In a discount frenzy for Black Friday, which seems to have turned into a week-long occasion, Amazon is bundling its reading devices with a six-month subscription to Kindle Unlimited.
It is offering the all-new Kindle e-reader together with a Kindle Unlimited six-month deal at $99. The e-reader is usually $79 and the Kindle Unlimited service charges $9.99 a month, so the usual cost would be around $138, making a saving of $39 on the deal. Amazon is also offering free shipping.
It’s worth pointing out that anyone signing up to Kindle Unlimited can get a free one month’s trial. The bundling deal basically offers four months of Kindle Unlimited free.
Kindle Unlimited is a library subscription service which features over 700,000 titles. You can borrow up to a total of 10 titles and ‘return’ and borrow new books at any time.
The new Kindle e-reader has a six-inch glare-free touchscreen display, wi-fi and long battery life.
Amazon is also offering Kindle Unlimited bundles with other reading devices, including:
- Fire HD 7 + 6 months of Kindle Unlimited for $169 (Normal cost would be $198)
- Kindle Paperwhite + 6 months of Kindle Unlimited for $149 (Normal cost would be $178)
- Fire HD 6 + 6 months of Kindle Unlimited for $129 (Normal cost would be $158)
The three devices above all offer savings of around $30, so the new Kindle ereader deal offers the biggest overall saving. Amazon isn’t offering a bundling deal with its top-of-the-range ereader, the Kindle Voyage.
You can find the bundled deals, which are US-only limited-time offers, at Amazon.com.
