Amazon KDP printing on demand in Canada will speed shipping

Amazon’s KDP Print service has now started paperback manufacturing in Canada.

Canadian print-on-demand orders were previously printed in the US and shipped to Canada while Amazon.ca sales were included in Amazon.com sales.

The move to printing in Canada means faster shipping to readers in Canada and free two-day shipping for Prime members. Royalty reporting will see a shift of units from Amazon.com to Amazon.ca.

Authors can also now set pricing in Canadian dollars (CAD). If you don’t update your list prices, Amazon will convert the US dollar (USD) list price to CAD for Amazon.ca.

However, proof copies and author orders for authors in Canada will still be printed and shipped from the US.

You can get more details on printing and distributing paperbacks here on the Amazon.com website.

Amazon recently extended KDP Print proof and author copies for delivery to addresses in Australia.

To order proof or author copies, log into your Kindle Direct Publishing account and choose either Request Printed Proofs or Order author copies from the ellipsis on the bookshelf. Choose the number of copies and the Amazon.com marketplace, select or enter your Australian address on the Amazon checkout page, and the shipping speed.
