Prime time to put forward your ebooks for Kindle Deals promotions

Amazon is now inviting authors to nominate their ebooks to be included in Kindle Deals and Prime Reading promotional programs.

This really is a welcome surprise as Amazon has been running these deals for years and it’s likely that being included in one of these promos will bring in substantial sales boosts. There are bound to be a lot of authors vying to be included but it’s got to be worth the effort to put forward your books. You will find a new section on your KDP account under the Marketing heading where you can nominate your books.

You can nominate two eligible titles at a time for Kindle Deals and one eligible title at a time for Prime Reading. Nominations do not guarantee enrolment. Kindle Deals and Prime Reading have limited space and not all nominated titles will be selected to participate. If your title is picked, Amazon will send you an email with the details and you can accept or decline the offer.

Kindle Deals and Prime Reading are available in the following marketplaces: amazon.com, amazon.ca, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.es, amazon.fr, amazon.it, amazon.in, amazon.br, amazon.co.jp, and amazon.com.au.

Nominations expire after 90 days. If you are not contacted within the 90-day period, your title wasn’t selected for a promotion. You can choose to have the nomination auto-renew at the end of the 90-day period or choose a new title to nominate.

The duration of Kindle Deals and Prime Reading offers vary. Kindle Deals range from one day to multiple weeks and Prime Reading ranges from 90 to 180 days.

If your title is chosen, Amazon will send you an email with the details of the offer within the 90-day nomination period but program enrolment may happen outside of the 90-day nomination period.

A number of factors are considered when selecting titles for Kindle Deals and Prime Reading, including reader interest, such as reviews, sales, broad appeal, and timeliness (summer reading, holidays, etc.).

To nominate a title:

  • Go to your Marketing page.
  • Under Nominate for promotions, choose the promotion for which you want to nominate your book.
  • Review and accept the Terms and Conditions.
  • Click Nominate a book.
  • Choose the title you want to nominate from your eligible titles.
  • Click Continue.
  • Click Nominate book.
  • After you nominate a title, that title will automatically be nominated again at the end of the 90-day nomination period. If you want to select a different title after the nomination expires, uncheck the checkbox under Manage nomination, and nominate a new title.
