StreetLib adds audiobook distribution deals plus comics channel

Worldwide digital book distributor StreetLib has signed a double deal with Scribd and Bibliotheca to widen its reach for audiobooks.

Distribution to the two companies will be through audiobook production specialist and aggregator Findaway Voices.

Bibliotheca is a US-based global library platform that distributes digital books to libraries in more than 70 countries around the world.

Scribd has been making considerable headway in recent years with its ebook, audiobook and digital magazine subscription platform and revealed a new round of $68 million investment towards the end of 2019. In January 2019, the firm said it had over one million subscribers.

Findaway Voices has become one of the leading firms in the audiobook area and offers help with production and wide distribution.

It features a pricing guide to estimate the likely cost of creating an audiobook and says $1,350-$1,650 is the average price range for a 50,000-word book.

Streetlib has also added some new interesting partners in markets where there are growing opportunities for ebook distribution.

It now offers distribution through graphic novels and comics specialist Izneo which is based in France but offers a range of publications in French, English and German with a mixed retail and subscription business model.

Streetlib also has a deal with another French ebook platform YooBoox, which covers France and Tunisia in North Africa. It has also linked up to distribute through one of Brazil’s leading audiobook operators, Tocalivros.

StreetLib’s standard distribution fees are 10% (cover price) for ebooks and 20% for audiobooks on net payout.
