If you’re looking to publish new books over Christmas or make changes to existing titles you need to act fast to get your titles on Apple’s iBooks and Kobo as they’re both shutting down over the holiday period.
Kobo is closing from December 19 and reopening on January 3. The good news is that any changes such as price promotions scheduled for the closedown period will be activated as normal so long as you enter all the details before midnight on December 18.
Apple is shut for a week between December 20-27 and won’t release pre-orders scheduled for release during that week.
Fortunately, market leader Amazon shows no sign of shutting down its Kindle Direct Publishing operation and Barnes & Noble’s Nook should also be operating a normal service.
