Amazon adds KDP paperback printing in Australia

Amazon’s KDP Print is starting to print paperbacks in Australia from May 19, 2021, which will mean faster and cheaper shipping to Australian authors and readers, but could also bring price hikes for authors to keep their royalties at the same level.

The company says authors should review their current list price for any books with distribution rights in Australia, as printing costs in Australia are higher and could affect your royalties. From May 12, 2021, authors can make changes to list prices for Amazon.com.au. You can estimate your Australian royalties using the Amazon calculator.

Amazon Author Central extended to Brazil

Amazon is launching Amazon Author Central in Brazil after bringing in several upgrades of AAC late last year.

With Amazon Author Central, you can create and update your Author Page across a number of different Amazon bookstores. This page is your home page on Amazon, which you can use to attract followers, share news, and promote your books. Claim titles to your author page on Amazon to make your book eligible for new release notifications to your followers.

The company made improvements to AAC in November 2020 which meant authors could use a single Author Central site with a single account to manage their Author Page, claim their books, and view their reports for multiple marketplaces.

The changes also made Amazon Author Central mobile-friendly for display on a phone, a tablet, or a computer.
