Amazon has extended the reach of Amazon Advertising for KDP authors who can now use Sponsored Product ads to readers in the UK and Germany as well as in the US.
The Amazon Ads scheme has been available for advertising in the US market since 2015 and it has become an essential tool for indie authors and publishers to market their books.
If you have an eligible book published on KDP that’s available on Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, or Amazon.com, you can begin advertising it in those countries today.
This is a significant move for indie authors as the UK is the second-biggest ebook market after the US, and Germany is a fast-increasing market for ebooks.
As well as being able to target advertising at those specific countries it also means that authors will get the opportunity to widen out their marketing from what has become an increasingly competitive market on Amazon.com. Amazon recently extended their Amazon Charts to cover the UK and Germany and indie authors had a strong showing on the initial best-sellers’ lists.
