Amazon Publishing is using its promotion power to send its own books to the top of the Kindle charts before they’re even published.
This week, two pre-orders from AP imprints take the No 1 and No 2 slots in the paid Kindle best sellers. I Am Livia by Phyllis T Smith published by Lake Union tops the table despite not being released until May 1.
It’s a debut novel and is described as being the female equivalent of Robert Graves’ I, Claudius. It sounds like a fascinating book.
In second spot is Home To Stay (An Anchor Island Novel) by Terri Osburn, published by Montlake Romance, also with a release date of May 1.
Seventh place goes to Plaster City (A Jimmy Veeder Fiasco) by Johnny Shaw from Thomas & Mercer, to be released on May 1, and another debut novel is at 15th – Killing Ruby Rose by Jessie Humphries, a Young Adult book from Amazon’s Skyscape, set for May 1 publication.
