The fourth edition of Kindle Direct Publishing’s Pen to Publish self-publishing contest in India is open for entries from December 10, 2020 to March 10, 2021.
To enter the contest you must upload and publish to KDP an original, previously unpublished book authored solely by you in the English, Hindi or Tamil languages. You will need to add the keyword pentopublish4 in the book detailed information and the ebook must be enrolled in KDP Select.
The contest will be run in two categories of long format and short format for each entry language of English, Hindi, and Tamil.
For the contest, long-format writing is defined as any ebook with more than 10,000 words. Short-format writing is defined as any ebook between 2,000 and 10,000 words, both inclusive. Based on the word count, an ebook will be classified by Amazon as long format or short format.

The winner will be selected in two phases:
Phase 1: Each ebook will be rated based on the commercial viability of the eBook (including, without limitation, with regards to the ebook’s sales, borrows and customer feedback). We will look at metrics from the time the book is published until March 30, 2021.
Phase 2: Up to five entries will be selected at the end of phase 1 for each language and form combination. These will then be read by the panel of judges and scored to identify the winner.
The finalists from Phase 1 will be announced around January 25, 2020 and the winners will be announced around February 20, 2020 on the contest page.
