Kindle Vella bonus goes up to $875,000
The Kindle Unlimited KENP rate for April 2022 edged up to $0.0044 from $0.0043 in March as the KDP Select Global Fund rose by $100,000 to $41.5 million from $41.4 million in March 2022.
On an annualised basis, the $41.5 million KDP Fund for April 2022 was 17% higher than the $35.5 million in April 2021, the same annual percentage increase seen in March.
The KENP rate for the UK for April 2022 also rose slightly to £0.0031 from £0.0030 in March 2022.
My calculations indicate there could have been around 9.43 billion KENPs read during April 2022, close to the level of 9.62 billion KENPs in March 2022.
The figures I use for total KENPs read are entirely unofficial and use a calculation of dividing the total KDP Select Global Fund ($41.5 million) by the US KENP rate ($0.0044). These estimates are based entirely on the amount paid out under the KDP Select Global fund and are only an indication of possible trends.
Kindle Vella bonus up by $50,000 for April 2022
The April 2022 Kindle Vella bonus rose by $50,000 again to $875,000 from $825,000 in March 2022.
Amazon says for the month of April, stories are rewarded based on customer activity such as Faves, Follows, and Token redemption (free and paid), as well as publishing activity, including the number of new episodes and frequency of episodes published in the month of April.
If you’ve earned a bonus for April, you’ll receive an email and will see the bonus amount posted in your Kindle Vella Dashboard. Your bonus and Kindle Vella royalty earnings will be paid out with your total KDP payments in June.
Episodes unlocked using free Tokens at the 200-Token bundle rate will continue to be compensated through July 2022. This compensation will be included with your overall bonus amount.
There’s not been much movement in the most popular Vella serials since the scheme launched, with The Marriage Auction by Audrey Carlan still in top spot and Hot Vampire Next Door by Nikki St Crowe staying in second place.
